We offer additional bodywork services that can be booked in addition to your retreat. Each day you will have a minimum of two hours of down-time in which you can explore on your own, relax or add-on one or more of the services listed below or others upon request.

 

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a practice of Chinese Medicine that helps with pain management, provides stress relief and is a great adjunct to internal medicine. The technique, which uses fine small stainless steel needles, originates from the Far East, dating back several thousand years. The practice relates to finding blockages which cause disease, tonifying the body's deficiencies and maintaining balance in the meridians or channels in of energy (Qi) and blood in one's body. It is a subtle, yet powerful, way to get your body back into balance.

Shiatsu Massage

Shiatsu is a manipulative therapy developed in Japan and incorporating techniques of anma (Japanese traditional massage), acupressure, stretching, and Western massage. Shiatsu involves applying pressure to special points or a region the body in order to maintain physical and mental well-being, treat disease, or alleviate discomfort.

Shiatsu massage therapy is holistic because it attempts to treat the whole person instead of a specific medical complaint. Shiatsu, which can be translated as finger pressure, has been described as needle-free acupuncture.

Reflexology

Reflexology is the application of pressure to areas on the feet, hands and ears. Reflexology is generally relaxing and may be an effective way to alleviate stress.The theory behind reflexology is that these areas correspond to organs and systems of the body. Proponents believe that pressure applied to these areas affects the organs and benefits the person's health.

 

Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage

Lomi Lomi Massage is a traditional Hawaiian style of massage using long forearm strokes along the body. Mimicking somewhat of a dance, this style is both therapeutic and relaxing, as the natural flow gives the nervous system room to breathe and let go. Because the techniques are passed down a long lineage of Hawaiian bodyworkers and healers, there is a deep-rooted Hawaiian spiritual and ancestral connection to this style.

Hot Stone ('ili 'ili) Massage

Hot Stone ('ili 'ili) Massage combines the art of traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage with the warmth of smooth volcanic stones.  The warm stones provide a nurturing way to relax the tension in muscles and create better blood circulation throughout the body.  

Thai Yoga Massage

Traditional Thai Yoga Massage is a therapeutic technique of bodywork that stimulates and balances the flow of healing energy within the body, opening the areas which are blocked bringing the receiver deeper into balance and harmony for health, happiness and wellness of being. This system creates a powerful release of stress and tension through stretching, and an increase in vitality and flexibility as it deepens the connection between mind, body and spirit in both the giver and receiver.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage therapy is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints) aids in release and recovery.
